I'm a 57-year-old communications professional for a Fortune 100 company. I grew up in Southern California, but I've moved around a lot and currently live in Texas with my husband, Dale, and our very large cat named Bruno.

I am a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with Stage 3, Grade 3 Primary Peritoneal Cancer in March 1999. This type of cancer is considered a variation of ovarian cancer and is treated the same. I had surgery, six treatments of chemo and another surgery to detect microscopic cancer after I was finished with chemo. All biopsies came back negative, and I've been fine ever since. I am very lucky.
