Biography

Rock the Silver® is about aging with panache ... it's about being fearlessly gray and relentlessly cool. Sometimes I write about hair, and sometimes I write about chin hairs. I'm not nearly as fearless or cool as I mean to be. So, why not write about the journey instead? I hope you will join me for a few random thoughts and laughs along the way.

I'm a 56-year-old communications professional for a Fortune 100 company, a freelance writer, speaker, golf nut, Army veteran, cancer survivor and entrepreneur. I grew up in Southern California, but I've moved around a lot and currently live in Texas with my husband, Dale, and our very large cat named Bruno.

As I mentioned, I am a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with Stage 3, Grade 3 Primary Peritoneal Cancer in March 1999. This type of cancer is considered a variation of ovarian cancer and is treated the same. I had surgery, six treatments of chemo and another surgery to detect microscopic cancer after I was finished with chemo. All biopsies came back negative, and I've been fine ever since. I know I am very lucky. Believe me, I know.

Thanks for visiting. Just about everything else you might want to know about me is already on the blog! I hope you will come by often and comment when the mood strikes you. Rock the Silver® readers are really smart and funny.
