Dress by Phoebe Couture. Since I saved $$ by not buying new shoes, I went to my favorite jewelry store and got these fabulous turquoise earrings, which I will wear again and again. I wore my hair in a modified Amy Winehouse. I liked it, although I don't think it looks all that great in this picture. What I liked especially is that it looked non-fixed, which was an improvement over the many helmet heads I saw last night. Still, I probably could have done better with my hair.
According to Stylish Young Coworker's theory of cost-per-wear, my Stuart Weitzman boots are getting cheaper by the minute.
The party was fun, and I'm glad I went. The thing I learned fashion-wise is to give yourself plenty of time and be patient. I tried the boots with the dress early on but always with black tights. I kept looking at it and wondering what was wrong. Finally, it occurred to me that I needed a peek of skin between the dress and the boots. I also like the idea of wearing the dress in warmer months with a strappy sandal.
I had a great time people watching. Most of the women in my age group wore long flowy things. I don't know why age increases the long flowy quotient, but it does, and I don't like it much. We should be over body issues by now and wearing cool stuff that flatters us but doesn't look like we are trying too hard.
Saw two women with gorgeous silver hair, and they stood out in a sea of dyed blondes. I'm biased, of course, but silver really does rock!
I never would've thought of the boots, but they are very cool with this dress. And just to make sure I got the reference, I googled some photos of Amy Winehouse -- oh, honey. Your EVERYTHING looks much better than what I saw.

Chapeau for the combo of feminine and rocking style!
Boots which even work with an evening dress are indeed a very good investment.
Love the topping with that beautiful turquoise earrings, great with your hair & brown eyes.
It's such a pity, that I can't see the whole image in larger size.
Donna, great work you've done.

The boots look perfect, and so do you! I'll bet you were the belle of the ball as we say in the South.

Donna - you look GREAT! The boots are really perfect, and so glad you didn't go with 'long and flowing'. The best part is you felt confident and lovely, and you should. You are!

You guys are way too nice. Thank you! Barbara -- I apologize for not finding a cute clutch. It was a bridge too far. Jo -- I neglected to say the name of my favorite jewelry store. I added a link to Nezhoni!
